Dissociative States
The title of this grouping, Dissociative States, represents a state of consciousness and perhaps the name of a place we find ourselves in. It suggests the ability to be somewhere else, concurrently. The pool meditation allows a pause for reset. The eyes dial in and out of focus from miniscule detail to shapes and colors. A cleansing, contemplative, and restorative practice. Still waters collect fallen flowers and leaves, organizing themselves into graceful compositions. Objects left or found in the pool seem transported and elevated, revealing the suggestion of narrative. Reflections from the sky provide dimension and insight. We carry our pool gaze out into the street, where we can look upon the world with detachment, abstraction, and curiosity.
